moss had never been to meteor falls. he wasn't really sure what to expect there, either. meteors? falling? surely not. he made the treck anyway, on foot as always, a smile plastered firmly on his face. weezer waddled alongside him, occasionally dropping to all fours to catch up when moss wandered too far ahead. it wasn't long before he noticed a familiar face ahead, and his smile only grew wider. "well hey, ms! fancy meetin' you here!" he'd run up to greet her properly, his buizel on his heels. "what'cha doin' in a place like this? don't you got, like... showers to be takin'?"

Sierra's almost-perfect shot was rudely interrupted by an intrusive stranger, who seemed more interested in questioning her hygiene than appreciating her photography skills. Unsure if the man was playfully teasing or genuinely unhinged, Sierra dropped her hands and shot him a bewildered look. "Uhhhh, what? Are you some kind of weirdo or-" [break][break]
Her attention quickly shifted as movement ahead caught her eye—Zweilous and Buizel appeared on the scene, engaged in their own antics. "Move," Sierra commanded, sidestepping Moss as she swiftly retrieved a pokeball from her jacket. [break][break]
With a resounding roar, Tyrannitar emerged, ready to face off against the Zweilous, leaving the Buizel untouched. "This will be a perfect action shot! Tyrannitar, give them a show!" Sierra exclaimed. Large rocks were flung at the Zweilous as Tyrannitar unleashed Stone Edge. However, Zweilous retaliated with a fierce Crunch on Tyrannitar. [break][break]
Camera slung over her shoulder, Sierra reached into her pocket for another pokeball. "Fire punch!" she directed, and as Zweilous clamped down on Tyrannitar's arm, the colossal Pokemon brought its other fist ablaze with fire, smashing the two heads together. Seizing the moment while Zweilous was dazed, Sierra hurled a pokeball in an attempt to capture the feisty Pokemon.

"hey, what-?" a weirdo? moss wasn't a weirdo. was he? he was left to grapple with this psychological conundrum as sierra shoved him aside, taking the spotlight with her tyranitar. he didn't notice that a zweilous had appeared until just that moment. "what?!" weren't dragon pokemon, like... rare? and powerful? what did that mean for him? moss scoffed -- he didn't need it anyway. no, he'd find something even better. he hurriedly scanned the horizon for any source of movement, his eyes landing decidedly on... weezer? [break][break]wait, no, weezer was right there. "oh! a buizel!" not exactly what he was looking for, unfortunately. he already had a buizel, and his was a lot cooler. "nah, im good." he reached down to pick up weezer, scoffing. "sorry, mr. buizel. i've already got a buddy, and i ain't replacin' him for no-" and the wild buizel who was apparantly not weezer leapt from his arms and began to claw his face up. "a-agh! aaagh! no!!" he ripped the wild pokemon from his face and threw it to the floor, where the buizel hit the ground on all floor and chirped angrily at him before turning away and scurrying off.
[break][break]moss looked over his shoulder to where the real weezer stood on his hind-legs, his back turned to him. ashamed. disappointed. betrayed. "w-weezer, c'mon... it's... it's not like that..."

The pokeball sailed through the air, its determined trajectory marked by a series of wiggles until it finally settled with a decisive click. With that, Sierra halted the recording.[break][break]
"Cut!" Sierra breathed a sigh of relief, strolling towards the now-captured Pokemon and securing it within her coat.[break][break]
Tyrannitar stood steadfast as both Sierra and her formidable companion observed Moss grappling with an unruly wild Buizel. What was the deal with this guy? Regardless, he took quite a beating, and Sierra couldn't shake off a sense of responsibility for his predicament. Worried that he might end up in a precarious situation if left alone, she approached with Tyrannitar looming behind her.[break][break]
"Are you okay?" she inquired, genuine concern etched across her features. "You really need to stay on your guard out here."

"w-weezer... please..." his faithful companion was unresponsive. moss tried to move forward to console his partner-in-crime, but the orange-furred lifeguard wasn't having any of it. for every step moss took towards him, weezer took two steps away. moss stood defeated and turned back to sierra as she approached. "i'm fine," moss replied honestly, "but... i think i've somehow made a mistake." he stared listlessly off into the distance. somewhere and somehow, a cool breeze cut between them. moss returned his attention to sierra -- hopefully weezer would forgive him -- and shrugged. "that was a pretty cool catch. why you recordin' it, though? you makin' a tv show?"
[break][break]moss took another look around the cavern. the dangers of the cave was not lost on him, but he was comfortable in his ability to at least defend himself. still, maybe sierra wasn't. tyranitar could only protect her from so much, right? right? disregarding the fact that she was walking around with a veritable tank of a pokemon, moss chose to use that as an excuse to make the most of her company."well, whatever the reason, i'm certainly keen on explorin'. wanna stick together? i'm sure it'll be heaps safer."

Sierra observed the frosty reception that Weezer, Moss's loyal companion, gave him, and a twinge of sympathy tugged at her. As Moss attempted to bridge the gap, his efforts were met with a two-step retreat from the orange-furred lifeguard. Moss, defeated, turned to Sierra as she approached.[break][break]
Moss responded honestly, his gaze distant, contemplating some unseen mistake. A cool breeze wafted between them, adding an eerie atmosphere to the cave. Moss shifted his attention back to Sierra, expressing curiosity about her motives for recording the encounter.
Sierra, seizing the opportunity to inject a touch of professionalism, put on her news caster persona with a warm smile. "Well, I'm Sierra Benoit, a news reporter! I'm working on a piece about Hoenn's most captivating places, and Meteor's Falls is certainly making the cut." With a subtle shift, she slipped back into her cool demeanor, shrugging at Moss's suggestion that they stick together.[break][break]
"Why not," she said casually, "I'm more than welcome to walk with you if that's what you're asking. Exploring can be fun, and I could use some good footage of a capable trainer navigating through the unknown. Let's see what you can do."[break][break]

"captivatin', huh?" moss scratched his ear, looking around. he didn't see any meteors falling; seemed a cave like any other to the country bumpkin. "i guess so."
[break][break]but she accepted travelling together, and that was enough to cheer him up immediately. "haha! okay, great! let's get goin' then!" weezer finally rejoined him, albeit from a distance of no few paces. moss took stock of their surroundings as they headed deeper into the cave, noting the pokemon in the distance. "do well to avoid that one," he murmured, watching the hulking druddigon busy himself with something. moss would continue on, eagerly peering around every corner. "man, i don't know what'd make good footage." moss propped himself up, brushing a shoulder. "but rest assured -- i am indeed a capable trainer. hehe."

"Captivating, indeed," Sierra replied with a confident smile, her professional demeanor intact. To Moss, the cavern may have seemed like any other, but to Sierra, it held the potential for a compelling story waiting to unfold.[break][break]
Sierra was undeterred by Moss's enthusiasm and as they delved deeper into the cave, Moss advised caution, pointing out a hulking Druddigon in the distance. She would keep silent, but nod in acknowledgment. It was a bit endearing that Moss was trying to educate her despite seeing how capable she was with her pokemon already, but she let him revel in his role as they continued on.[break][break]
her gaze focusing on a lone Oshawott in the distance. seizing the opportunity for a live demonstration. "In fact, let's add a touch of excitement to our journey."[break][break]
Without missing a beat, Sierra commanded Tyranitar into action, engaging in a battle with the Oshawott. Tyranitar roared out causing the much more timid creature to try to flee causing Tyranitar to PURSUIT after it. It didn't take much to catch up to the Oshawott and putting it in a state of exhaustion as she flung a pokeball at it.[break][break]
Sierra, ever composed, explained her rationale to Moss.[break][break]

"Maybe on the next encounter, you can fight alongside Weezer," she suggested, her mind already strategizing the next sequence. "I want to capture the full angle of a natural battle between a trainer and a wild Pokemon."[break][break]

moss watched patiently, with his arms crossed, as sierra took care of the oshawatt and caught it. she was pretty good at that! not as good as him, of course, but good enough. still, she needed a guide, and moss was more than happy to play the role... the exact cause of their meeting -- chance -- was completely forgotten. no, now in his eyes, she was a person that had need to be shepherded through a dangerous cave of wild pokemon. [break][break] and she had a challenge for him! "sure thing! c'mon, weezer." the buizel hurried alongside moss. "i'll show you somethin' real cool to record, don't even worry." puffing out his chest and taking the lead, moss dove headlong into the cave's darkness, hopefully prepared for what was yet to come...
